Simple baked eggs are made by cracking eggs into greased ramekins, often with a splash of cream or butter, and baking at 375°F for 10–15 minutes until whites are set and yolks are runny. They are best served warm with bread, seasoning, and optional cheese, providing a quick, custom breakfast or brunch option.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Bake time: 10–15 minutes
Temp: 375°F (190°C)
INGREDIENTS:
4 large eggs
2 tablespoons heavy cream (or 1 tbsp butter, melted)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: 1/4 cup shredded cheddar, fresh herbs, or Parmesan
Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Generously grease two to four ramekins with butter or oil.
Add Eggs: Crack 1–2 eggs into each ramekin, taking care not to break the yolks.
Add Toppings: Spoon 1 tablespoon of heavy cream (or melted butter) over each egg and season with salt and pepper.
Bake: Place ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes. Start checking at 10 minutes; they are done when the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.
Serve: Let them cool slightly before serving immediately.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS:
For soft yolks: Bake for 10-12 minutes.
For firm yolks: Bake for 15 minutes.
