1 cup olive oil
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can san marzano tomatoes
6 garlic cloves, peeled and thinly sliced
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon kosher salt and ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
2 tablespoons good chili hot sauce
DIRECTIONS:
Heat oil over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook until golden, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Remove garlic with a spider or slotted spoon and reserve in a bowl.
Add tomatoes, honey, salt and chili sauce and cook on medium for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Using an immersion blender, blend sauce until smooth.
Add reserved garlic back into pot. Serve with a good crusty bread. Enjoy!
